The flame-retardant principle of halogen-containing wires relies on the flame-retardant effect of halogens, while the flame-retardant principle of halogen-free wires relies on water precipitation to lower the temperature and extinguish the flame.
Fire-resistant wires rely on the fire-resistant and heat-resistant characteristics of mica materials in the fire-resistant layer to ensure normal operation of the wires in the event of a fire.
III. Differences in Structural Characteristics
Structural characteristics of flame-retardant wires: Their insulation layer, sheath, outer sheath, and auxiliary materials (covering and filling) are all or partially made of flame-retardant materials.
Structural characteristics of fire-resistant wires: The conductor of fire-resistant wires is a copper conductor with good fire resistance (the melting point of copper is 1083). A fire-resistant layer is added between the conductor and the insulation layer. The fire-resistant layer is formed by winding multiple layers of mica tape. Due to the large difference in the allowable operating temperature of different mica tapes, the key to the fire resistance of the wire is the mica tape.
