Pudong International Airport
Shanghai Pudong International Airport, located in the coastal area of Shanghai, Pudong New Area, China, covers an area of 40 square kilometers. It was built in 1999 and put into use before the 2008 Beijing Olympic games.
Pudong airport is one of the two major international airports in Shanghai, about 30 kilometers away from the center of Shanghai, about 52 kilometers away from the Hongqiao airport, and Beijing Capital International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport are called China's three major international airports. Passenger throughput was 51 million 661 thousand and 800 passengers in 2014.
