Shanghai F1 Circuit
The Shanghai International Circuit, located in Jiading District, Shanghai, People's Republic of China, was built under the direction of then-Shanghai Mayor Chen Liangyu. The project cost approximately 2 billion yuan, with construction starting in October 2002 and completion in June 2004. The total area is 5.3 square kilometers, with a seating capacity of 200,000. The inaugural Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix was held there on September 26, 2004.
