Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant

Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant is the first 300,000-kilowatt pressurized water reactor nuclear power plant in China that was independently designed, constructed, and operated and managed. It is located in Haiyan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is 100% controlled by China National Nuclear Corporation, and Qinshan Nuclear Power Company is responsible for its operation and management. Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant uses currently mature pressurized water reactors. The nuclear island uses three barriers: fuel cladding, pressure vessel, and containment, which can withstand the internal pressure, high temperature, and various natural disasters caused by extreme accidents. The Phase I project started in 1984 and was completed and put into operation in 1991. The annual power generation is 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours. The Phase II project will expand two 60

What are the characteristics of mineral-insulated cables? (Part 1)

Hongsheng: Because mineral-insulated cables are entirely composed of inorganic materials (metallic copper and magnesium oxide powder), they themselves cannot cause fires, cannot burn, or support combustion. Copper has a melting point of 1083℃, and the mineral insulation layer also has a melting point above 1000℃.

What are the characteristics of mineral-insulated cables? (Part 2)

Hongsheng: Because the actual normal operating temperature of mineral insulated cables can reach 250℃, IEC60702 stipulates that the continuous operating temperature of mineral insulated cables is 105℃. This is to consider the needs of terminal sealing materials and safety. Even so, its current carrying capacity far exceeds that of other cables, because mineral insulation has a better thermal conductivity than plastic, so at the same working temperature, the current carrying capacity is greater.

Introduction to mineral cables

Hongsheng: Mineral-insulated cable, a type of cable with a copper conductor core wrapped in a copper sheath, and using magnesium oxide powder as an inorganic insulating material to isolate the conductor from the sheath. An appropriate protective sheath can be selected for the outer layer as needed. Commonly known as MICC or MI cable. A similar cable uses metal instead of a copper sheath to wrap the core wire and insulating material, called mineral-insulated metal-sheathed cable.
