Main classifications and functions of power cables

In ancient times, without electricity, social progress was slow, and people's work efficiency was low. For modern people, the invention of electricity has brought great benefits to humanity, making our lives rich, colorful, convenient, and fast, and driving numerous industries. Wires and cables are the transmission tools for electric energy and are an indispensable and important component. In ancient times, without electricity, social progress was slow, and people's work efficiency was low. For modern people, the invention of electricity has brought great benefits to humanity, making our lives rich, colorful, convenient, and fast, and driving numerous industries. Electrical wires and cables are the transmission tools of electrical energy and are an indispensable and important component. Power cables can be specifically divided into the following categories according to their uses:

   1. Bare wires and bare conductor products

The main characteristic is that they are pure conductor metals without insulation and sheath layers, such as steel-core aluminum stranded wires, copper-aluminum busbars, and electric locomotive wires. The processing technology is mainly pressure processing, such as melting, rolling, drawing, stranding/tight stranding, etc. The products are mainly used in suburban areas, rural areas, user main lines, switch cabinets, etc.

   2. Power cords

The main feature is that the heat insulation layer is extruded (wrapped) around the outside of the conductor, such as overhead insulated cables, or several units of stranded wires corresponding to the merchant ships, neutral lines, and ground wires of the power system (equivalent to the merchant ships, neutral lines, and ground wires of the power system). Add a sheath layer, such as two-core or more overhead insulated cables or plastic/rubber sheathed steel wire cables. The main process technologies include drawing, twisting, insulation extrusion (winding), cabling, gloves, and protective layer extrusion, etc. Different process combinations of various products have certain differences. Products are mainly used for sending, distributing, transporting, changing, and high-voltage transmission on power lines.

   3. Power cables for electrical equipment

The main characteristics are a wide variety of specifications and a wide range of applications. The voltage is commonly used below 1kV, and there are special situations facing the continuous introduction of new product types such as fire-resistant wires and cables, flame-retardant wires and cables, low-smoke halogen-free wires and cables, termite-proof, mouse-proof cables, oil-resistant, cold-resistant, heat-resistant, and wear-resistant cables, medical and agricultural wires and cables, and thin-walled wires.

   4. Communication cables and optical fiber cables

The main feature is that they are wire and cable products used to transmit various communication information above audio and audio, including city telephone cables, long-distance symmetrical communication, coaxial communication, telephone equipment, and various communications. The main materials are quartz and plastic for photoelectric transmission of information, with the advantages of large capacity, small size, and light weight.

   5. Winding wires

Main characteristics: Wires that generate current magnetic fields in the form of windings by cutting magnetic lines of force in a magnetic field are called windings.

Types and functions of power cables

Common power cables are roughly SYV, SYWV(Y), RVV sheathed wires, RVVP shielded wires, RG, KVVP, etc.:

1. SBVV and HYA are indoor or outdoor data communication cables, mainly used for our daily telephone communication or wireless devices, and of course, some telephone wiring or connection box wiring.

 2. The cables used in household appliances or some small power tools, as well as some instruments and lighting equipment, are the more common RVV, called polyvinyl chloride insulated soft cables.
