Below, I will explain some protective measures for power cables.
Cables are typically rope-like conductors composed of several strands or groups of steel wires (at least two wires per group). Each group of wires is insulated from each other, usually twisted around a central core, and the entire outer surface is covered with a highly insulating coating. They are mostly erected in the air, underground, or underwater, used for telecommunications or power transmission. According to their use, cables can be divided into power cables, communication cables, and control cables. So, are there any safety requirements when using cables?
Let me explain some protective measures for power cables.
Safety protection measures for power cables
Cables are usually rope-like cables made of several strands or groups of steel wires (each group has at least two wires). Each group of wires is insulated from each other, usually twisted around a central core, and the entire outer surface is covered with a highly insulating coating. They are mostly erected in the air, underground or underwater, used for telecommunications or power transmission. According to their use, cables can be divided into power cables, communication cables and control cables. So, are there any safety requirements when using cables?
Safety Requirements
1. When cables cross, high-voltage cables should be below low-voltage cables. If one of the cables is protected by a pipe or separated by a partition within 1 meter before and after the crossing, the minimum allowable distance is 0.25 meters.
2. When cables approach or cross heat pipes, if there are insulation measures, the minimum parallel and crossing distances are 0.5m and 0.25m respectively.
3. When cables cross railways or roads, they should be protected by pipes, and the protective pipes should extend 2m beyond the tracks or road surface.
4. The distance between the cable and the building foundation should ensure that the cable is buried outside the building's eaves; when the cable is introduced into the building, it should be protected by a pipe, and the protective pipe should also extend beyond the building's protection.
5. The grounding distance between cables buried directly underground and general grounding devices should be 0.25~0.5m. The burial depth of cables buried directly underground should generally not be less than 0.7m, and should be buried below the frost line.
Power Cable Protection Measures
With the rapid development of underground power cable laying projects, higher requirements have been put forward for cable protection. Cable protective sleeves are made of polyethylene PE and steel pipes through sandblasting and shot blasting pretreatment, plastic spraying or coating, and heating and curing. They are commonly used electrical insulating pipes for protecting wires and cables. Due to their good insulation performance, high chemical stability, no rust, no aging, and adaptability to harsh environments, they are widely used.
Using power cable protective sleeves to protect cables can achieve the following advantages:
1. Good corrosion resistance, long service life, can be used in humid saline-alkali land.
2. Good flame retardancy and heat resistance, can be used at 130 degrees Celsius for a long time without deformation, and will not burn when encountering fire.
3. High strength and rigidity, can be directly buried under the driveway without adding a concrete protective layer, which can speed up the construction progress of cable projects.
4. The pipe materials and fittings of the cable protective sleeve have certain flexibility, which can resist damage caused by external pressure and foundation settlement.
5. It has good anti-external signal interference ability.
6. The inner wall is smooth and does not scratch the cables. The socket connection is designed for convenient installation and connection. Rubber sealing rings are added at the joints, which can adapt to thermal expansion and contraction and prevent mud and sand from entering.
Okay, I won't explain too much today. If you need to purchase power cables, you can contact our factory.
